was born in 1964 in Handlova, in the former Czechoslovakia. She graduated in medicine at the University of Lübeck and, subsequently, in dentistry at the University of Heidelberg, gaining a licence to practise and a doctorate in both fields. In February 2003 she completed her training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Clinics for Head and Neck Surgery at Heidelberg University. In October 2003, while working as a senior physician in the University Hospital, she commenced advanced training in reconstructive plastic surgery of the head and neck and gained additional qualifications in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and in Implantology.
